The Wedding Feast continues in Bexhill…

Well,
For the last two nights Christian Voices’ performances of The Wedding at Cana was once again well received and we were made to feel v welcome at Sackville Rd Methodist Church and Living Word Church – both in Bexhill.
The group was also pleased to meet Maureen Daley, Scheme Manager for Homecall.

Christian Voices are certainly pleased to be able to support such an excellent and worthwhile cause and Maureen too was pleased to see the work on their behalf by Christian Voices.

The next performance of the play is at St. Michael’s Church, Bexhill at 7:45pm tonight.
See you there…

Comment: our first feedback

We have already received this wonderful comment about our current play The Wedding at Cana:

Hi Alan,

You’ve done it again – another brilliant production! As you know I really enjoy what comes across as the simplicity of your performances, yet at the same time you get the story across, loud and clear, so that one can never forget the bible passage. The acting, the story, the singing and the words of the songs were all first rate – well done to you all. I hope all your performances this week are well received, and I look forward to your next production.

Best wishes, Sandy Willard.

Thank you, Sandy, and we’re very pleased you enjoyed the performance.

The next chance to catch the play is at St. Michael’s Church, Bexhill starting at 7:45pm.

The wedding at Cana has begun…

Christian Voices are proud to announce that we have started our latest run of performances.
Ever wondered what happened around Christ’s first miracle? What did people think? Come see for yourself our idea of how that wonderful event may have unfolded.

We performed this play for the first time Sunday afternoon (09/Jun/2013), at St.Martha’s Church, Little Common. We think the performance went very well and the audience were very kind and generous. As a result, we are pleased to announce that we raised a decent amount for HomeCall, our chosen charity this time round.

Our next performance of The wedding at Cana is at 7:45 on Tuesday (11/Jun/2013) at Sackville Road Methodist Church, Bexhill.

HomeCall provide much needed contact and help to blind and partially sighted people in the Bexhill area.

Helen is very welcome and we look forward to hearing the music group’s efforts with great enthusiasm.

A Summer Wedding comes to Bexhill

Christian Voices are proud to announce that they are preparing for their next set of performances.
The work, based on the Wedding at Cana, again combines the talents of Alan Young and Dave Chamberlin as playwright and songwriter.
This new piece of work, based on the story of Jesus’s attendance at a wedding, is recounted in John 2 1-11.
The story marks an important point in the life of Christ. Alan Young’s new play recounts what may have occurred in the days leading up to the wedding.
Come along and find out for yourselves.

Comment: “Well done to you all”

Below are the wonderful comments we’ve received from Sandy Willard regarding Christian Voices performances of What Would You Do? In 2012.

Great to get the feedback, Sandy, appreciated.

Well done, I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation, as always, and look forward to the next one. You seem however to be asking for a more in depth response, and to this I would say that I think Christian Voices is an excellent group that portrays bible stories from different angles, but at the some time, in simple form for all to understand and think about. The whole ‘simplicity’ and yet perfection of it is what also appeals to me – very little dressing up or stage props and yet we are perfectly aware of the situation all the time. I also very much enjoy the singing and music and well done to that family group. I have enjoyed watching the daughter ‘grow up’ over the years I have been to your productions.
I confess that prior to Saturday I hadn’t realised that I had seen your 2009 production but when you started, I thought it was all very familiar. I am afraid I cant actually compare the two performances as I really cant remember my thoughts of the earlier showing apart from the fact that I know I would have enjoyed it, and that the facts stayed with me, which I feel is a good thing – the whole point of such productions I feel. Such facts are not always clear in the Bible and it is good to see other angles and thoughts portrayed.
Obviously, the acting plays a large part in your productions and again, I feel it is excellent. How you all manage to remember your lines I shall never know and only wish I had your skill! The diction of you all is very clear and your sincerity also comes across.
All in all, as I hope you can tell, I thoroughly enjoy your productions and very much look forward to your next one. Well done to you all.

Best wishes, Sandy Willard
