Christian Voices’ first play of 2018 saw us performing our second contemporary, Bridges or Walls.
Pulling together, regardless of our differences, can be hard but sometimes necessary to help others.
An ecumenical group of Christians run a café together. When a family comes into crisis can the group overcome their differences to help?
Being different is a quintessential part of being human and Christians are no different. Indeed there are many denominations and perspectives on the life and message of Christ. But, for the most part, we have more in common with our brethren than separates us. But we may allow those differences to overwhelm our perspective or better judgement, and people can suffer. We all can suffer.
The play covers multiple complex and difficult subjects. We hope that, although the topics may trouble some, that the lesson of compassion and working together are encouraging and inspiring to those that see the play – building bridges, not walls.
In 2018 the play was performed three times by Christian Voices. The play was written and directed by Chris King and the songs written by Alan Young.
